Je suis surpris que le journalctl -b0 | grep -i amd ne retourne rien...
Comme il s' agit d' une carte AMD, le pilote amdgpu devrait être installé et on devrait en trouver trace dans le journal ( cela ne reste que supposition n' ayant pas de carte AMD) ...
Les paquets amdgpu sont bien installés ( rpm -qa | amdgpu) ?

Oui, ils sont installés. J'ai refait la commande journalctl etc, voici ce que cela donne:

Si les paquets sont bien installés, quel est le pilote qui est choisi dans la configuration de la carte graphique ?
Comme c' est une carte Radeon, aurait t' elle besoin d' un firmware ( présent dans le paquet radeon-firmware dans le dépot nonfree)

On dirait que l' écran n' envoye pas correctement ses capacités.
Je serais curieux de savoir ce que donne la commande xrandr --properties ( notamment la partie concernant edid ( que l'on peut décoder avec edid-decode), par savoir quel écran n' enverrait que du 1024*768 !
Si cet écran fonctionne sur un autre PC à sa capacité normale, il faudrait récupérer la partie EDID de xrandr et la copier dans un fichier texte.
Ensuite, sur le pilote radeon, on peut spécifier apparemment d' utiliser un fichier edid personnalisé ( customEDID) https://www.x.org/releases/X11R7.7/doc/man/man4/radeon.4.xhtml
edit: attention à cette phrase.

J'ai essayé une ré-installation complète de mageia 7.1. Le problème reste identique malgré les corrections apportées ensuite. Pire, quand je me connecte avec mon user l'écran freeze et il est impossible de s'en servir. Par contre root fonctionne mais avec les même problèmes d'affichage.

Je suis allé voir sur le site d'ATI. Il y a des pilotes linux pour leurs cartes vidéo, mais seulement pour Ubuntu et fedora, sont-ils utilisables sur Mageia 7?

En fait, je crois qu' Amd n' autorise pas la distirbutionnde ses pilotes propriétaire.
Il me semble avoir vu un post là concernant les pilotes amdgpu pro (si c' est bien de cela qu' il s' agit).

Toujours mes problèmes de résolution d'écran. J'ai trouvé sur le site driverscollection.com le fichier suivant: ATI Radeon HD 5870 Catalyst™ Proprietary Display Pilote v.12.2 v.12.2 pour Linux x86, Linux x86_64, mais avec la mise en garde que si cela plante, je ne peux que m'en prendre à moi-même. De surcroit la procédure (plusieurs pages) est entièrement en anglais. Quelqu'un connaît?
