j'ai voulu passer un disque dur IDE avec mageia 4 fonctionnelle d'un Desktop Lenovo sur un Dell Optiplex équipé pour du Sata. J'ai connecté le disque IDE avec une carte d'extension PCI. Lorsque je démarre j'accède à l'interface de démarrage de Mageia qui progresse jusqu'à

On peut passer un disque Linux (Mageia) d'un appareil sur un autre, la préoccupation principale est qu'aucun autre swap ne soit disponible lors de l'installation de Mageia.
Pour limiter les problèmes graphique j'utilise un live DVD et je laisse tous les drivers. Mais je pense que le DVD classique peut faire aussi car le Xorg actuel s’accommode assez bien d'un changement de puce graphique en utilisant un driver libre.
Donc quand je veux faire un disque ( USB par exemple) qui puisse passer d'un appareil à l'autre, je débranche les autres disques pour l'installation. En effet si l'installateur a détecté un autre swap le disque n'est pas transférable.
Il faut alors remettre le disque en place sur la machine d'origine, débrancher les autres disques ( surtout ceux contenant un swap ), supprimer les swap inutiles dans /etc/fstab et faire un dracut ( ou réinstaller sans formatage) pour refaire le disque virtuel de démarrage.
