Je suis un nouvel utilisateur de Mageia ayant une expérience avec Ubuntu.
Mon installation de Mageia s'est bien passée et je suis globalement satisfait mais je n'arrive pas à configurer mon imprimante HP qui est connectée sur mon réseau local via la Freebox.
J'ai utilisé le CCM ajouter mon imprimante en lui indiquant l'URL : ipp://cups-server/printers
Mais le statut est Traitement en cours - Unable to locate printer "cups-server".
Du coté HP j'ai HPLIP-3.14.6 version was installed. mais quand je demarre le HP device manager le setup device est inopérant et du coté CUPS web interface je n'arrive pas à ajouter d'imprimante.
Bref on est encore loin du plug ans play et windaube a encore de beau jours devant lui.
Si quelqu'un pouvait me donner quelques pistes de travail ce serait sympa.

1è étape (par sécurité) installation de l'imprimante directement branchée sur l'ordi puis vérification avec hplip.
2è étape rebrancher l 'imprimante sur la box, puis lors de la recherche indiquer l'adresse ip de la box du genre 192.168.1.1 (à vérifier).
Même si elle est trouvée, il peut être nécessaire de la débrancher et rebrancher pour un bon fonctionnement.

Vas dans la section matériel puis configurer une imprimante. Laisse toi guider.

Ma première tentative via le CCM a été d'essayer d'utiliser HPLIP ce qui a permit au système de définir l'imprimante mais la config via CUPS n'aboutissait pas. Au final quand j'ai repris le CCM pour ajouter une autre config d'imprimante, la mienne est apparue dans la liste avec son adresse IP correcte et j'ai choisi la config AppSocket/HP JetDirect et bingo ça fonctionne.
Je n'ai plus qu'à faire le ménage dans les paquets HPLIP et CUPS qui sont peut-être inutiles maintenant mais ceci est une autre histoire.

Si ton installation s'est bien passée, la partie scanner de l'imprimante doit fonctionner sans rien faire de plus. Si ce n'est pas déjà fait, installe XSane et lance le. Il devrait détecter automatiquement ton scanner et te permettre de l'utiliser.
