c'est un peu ce que j'ai ditJe me pose la question pour la partition étendue parce qu'elle n'est en fait qu'un "conteneur" et c'est aux partitions qui sont à "l'intérieur" qu'il faut en fait accéder.

Là que l'étendue ne soit pas alignée n'est pas gênante en terme de taille de donnée utiles à accéder, (l'EBR et ses 512 octets)
ce qui pourrait être pénalisant est le nombre d'accès, mais vu le peu de donnée à lire il est peu probable qu'il y ait 2 accès pour cela...L'important c'est que les partitions logiques soient elles alignées!

Une seconde pour le calcul de la taille...La 3ème un modulo 2048 sur la fin partition pour être au plus près de 2047 histoire d'avoir le dernier accès le plus "plein" possible, sachant qu'il ne le sera jamais puisque la fin d'une partition ne peut être alignée sauf à perdre 1 secteur entre fin alignée et début alignée de la suivante...

dd if=/dev/sda5 of=/point de montage d'un des DD/saveMageia3.img bs=4k
destruction de /dev/sda5 et /dev/sda4
reconstruction des 2 en alignant avec fdisk
restitution en se mettant sur le DD où est l'image
dd if=saveMageia3.img of=/dev/sda5 bs=4k
Note: faut être patient avec dd, c'est long de chez long...
EDIT 29/04/2014: pour la sauvegarde de cette sda5 il te faut aussi la place sur le DD qui doit la recevoir...
Mais avant de risquer la manip compare tes partition en lecture/écriture avec les commandes dd que j'ai mises plus haut

identique à la valeur par défaut de 256 secteurs
_SSZ size bloc logique identique aussi...en octets
c'est sur ces 2 paramètres que je pensais trouver une différence
_BSZ c'est la taille en octets du bloc du système de fichier utilisé sur la partition
4kio pour NTFS, ext4; 512 pour FAT chez moi
à noter le cas particulier de l'étendue dont le bloc et la taille ne font que 1024 octets/secteurs...

Tu te compliques la vie, pour moi le but est d'aider à partitionner via une feuille de calcul qui:C et 2048 étant toujours des entiers positifs, P est toujours un entier positif; il n'y a donc pas lieu d'afficher les décimales.

_à partir des données début et fin, étendue ou pas, de chaque partition que tu renseignes à gauche dans ta partie verte
_te calcule partie droite:
une colonne : début/2048=entier=aligné=>pas d'arrondi dans la formule
une colonne : (fin-début)*512=taille en octets de la partition
une colonne facultative : fin+1(modulo/2048)=fin aussi alignée mais pas important
sachant que le calcul doit prendre en compte le champ Extended pour ajouter 2048 à tous les débuts de partition logique comme le font parted et fdisk
Après tu peux agrémenter avec d'autres colonnes comme tu veux.
Bon, j'en reste là sur ton fichier, car on diverge ce n'est pas le sujet du Topic :+)

et des DD...Ma machine ne me permet pas d'activer l'AHCI ce qui serait préférable voire important pour un maximum de performances du SSD.

Actuellement, j'ai un PC de transit à P4/3Ghz aussi, 4Gio de RAM avec OS double boot XP/Cauldron4Mon processeur est Pentium IV 3 Ghz monocœur (2 cœurs virtuels) avec 2 Gio de RAM.
La CM est une ASUS P5B, son BIOS permet l'AHCI que je n'ai pas tenté car j'ai un doute:
son chipset est ICH8 et j'ai cru lire qu'il fallait un ICH8-R
Quand bien même, il me manque aussi les pilotes AHCI pour XP...les autres OS Microsoft n'ont pas ce pb.
Pour revenir au Topic, as tu comparé tes partitions avec dd?
Car si ta sda5 logique te donne les même résultats que tes primaires, pas la peine de réaligner l'étendue à mon avis.
(Sinon j'ai oublié mais pour la sauvegarde de cette sda5 il te faut aussi la place sur le DD qui doit la recevoir...)

je veux dire de reprendre les bouts de commande (mis plus haut) avec dd et hdparm pour les appliquer à chacune de tes partitions.
Si pas de différence flagrante entre tes partitions primaires alignées et ta partition logique elle aussi alignée mais passant par le chainage de l'Etendue non alignée, alors pas besoin de t'ennuyer et de prendre des risques à réaligner cette Etendue!

Ce genre d'info se trouve aussi dans les tests de DD réalisés sur hardware.fr. Y a plus qu'à retrouver le test du tien

plus besoin de mettre le I dans la commande, car la seule partie intéressante pour ce test en lecture se retrouve en fin de la même info répétée, -tT suffisent!
Ensuite, il ne faut comparer entre elles que les partitions du même type, ainsi tu peux exclure le résultat de sda1 car c'est du NTFS et de sda4 l'Etendue pour ne comparer que sda2, sda3 et sda5 qui sont du même type ext4.
Et avec dd sur différentes tailles de bs notamment en écriture?

Donc trouver un moyen de lire et d'écrire sur le DD pour connaitre les débits respectifs
et ensuite "jouer" sur l'alignement de ce même DD et comparer les dits débits entre eux, ceci avec le même moyen de lecture/écriture.
Après force navigations, je me suis rabattu sur hdparm et dd en lecture et le seul dd en écriture conforté en cela par le lien fourni par MadTux
Au passage, ce moyen de lecture/écriture permettrait aussi de mettre en évidence
l'influence de la taille du blocsize du système de fichier employé
l'influence de la position physique de la partition par rapport au centre sur un DD (pas sur un SSD)
Et pour en venir à ton cas de SSD
il s'agit de comparer les débits de lecture et d'écriture entre tes 2 partitions primaires ext4 alignées et ta partition logique ext4 alignée mais dont l'accès se fait par le chainage de la partition étendue non alignée.
Si la moyenne de plusieurs séquences de lecture et d'écriture ne montrent pas d'écart significatif, il n'y aurait pas besoin de réaligner l'étendue...
Dans le détail, en ne s'intéressant qu'au Timing buffered disk reads de hdparm, pas de différence flagrante,
par contre pour dd, l'esprit malin s'est aussi joué de toi

Perso, je met au point un script qui fait tout cela en automatique, et pour sa mise au point je l'ai fait tourner sur les DD de 3 PCs
2 en double-boot, 1 en quadruple-boot, soit un total de 5 DD et pour l'instant je n'ai rien écrasé...vite un bout de bois...

Je l'ai testé sous chaque Linux embarqué de 3 PC différents et sur les 5 DD de ceux-ci
_2 PC double-boot XP/Linux (Cauldron4 et Mageia2) à 2 DD chacun
_1 PC quadruple-boot XP/Seven/Mageia4/Kubuntu LTS 12.04 à 1 DD
et aussi à partir d'un clé USB Live Fedora18, solution la plus neutre pour tester je pense, vu que le DD en test est "idle" car aucun OS ne tourne dessus dans ce cas et que le script de test tourne lui à partir d'une autre clé USB.
...et miracle autant les DD que les PC ont survécu :+)
Ce script se lance en root et commence par demander quel DD (ou SSD) il faut tester

un test d'écriture via dd avec 3 boucles d'un premier couple bs/count, fait la moyenne et renouvelle avec 2 autres couples bs/count différents mais dont la taille totale de ces 3 bsXcount est toujours la même,
avec au besoin, création point de montage et montage des partitions pour les fichiers tmp d'écriture, lesquels, montage ou non, sont effacés en fin de boucle,

j'ai réaligné le PC quadruple-boot, sda1 au lieu de commencer à 1 il commence maintenant à 64
mais d'abord le résultat, AVANT alignement sur 64, du script lancé

Par curiosité j'ai comparé les résultats de cette méthode avec les 2 autres pas "PROPRES" à savoir ceux obtenus sous Mageai4 et Kubuntu 12.3 LTS...
Et bien surprenants, autant je me doutais qu'il fallait exclure les partitions / et /home de la comparaison , autant je ne pensais pas trouver une telle dispersion notamment en écriture sur les partitions ntfs pourtant à priori exclues du côté "juge et partie"! Pour ne pas déjà me dire que j'ai accouché d'une souris avec ce script, je dirais dans un premier temps que seule la méthode "NEUTRE" est à utiliser!
En attendant de l'utiliser sur le nouvel alignement, j'ai avant d'effectuer celui-ci sauvegardé, via dd, toutes les partitions sauf la swap et la dernière, de façon à les restituer ensuite, n'ayant pas envie de réinstaller les 4 OS.

Tous les débuts de partitions sont un mutiple de 64 et de 2048 sauf sda1 et sda4
Toutes les fins de partition sont inférieures de 1 secteur au début de la suivante sauf à partir des logiques, 2 secteurs d'écart, pour celui obligatoire du chainage EBR....il est de 2048 dans l'alignement par défaut...
tout comme il l'aurait été entre les débuts de l'étendue et de la première logique, ici 64, mais il aurait été possible de mettre 2 seulement...
Pour info, résultats "juge et partie" dans le post suivant, car impossible à ajouter dans celui-ci, il semblerait qu'il y ait une limite...

J'ai restitué les partitions toujours avec dd et retrouvé au mieux seulement 3 OS opérationnels, les 2 Linux et XP,En attendant de l'utiliser sur le nouvel alignement, j'ai avant d'effectuer celui-ci sauvegardé, via dd, toutes les partitions sauf la swap et la dernière, de façon à les restituer ensuite, n'ayant pas envie de réinstaller les 4 OS.
toutes mes tentatives pour rendre aussi Seven opérationnel ont échoué, au mieux je retrouve son multi-boot mais alors perds XP.
Si j'ai le courage je mettrais ici pour info les quelques pièges/résolutions qui m'ont permis d'arriver à cet état...Bref, j'ai fait tourner le script sur le PC avec juste les 2 Linux utilisables.
1er piège: restitution sur une partition plus petite
dans mon réalignement, toutes les partitions se sont vues augmentées en nombre de secteurs, sauf sciamment les /home des 2 Linux, d'où message dd car pas assez d'espace

2ème piège: ne pas avoir sauvegardé la swap
et oui, la swap commune aux 2 Linux, en sda1, exempte de données ne m'a pas semblé nécessaire à sauvegarder,
mais quand son tour en dernier est arrivé de la déplacer de 1 à 64, aucun Linux ne démarrait, blocage sur un écran noir avec écrit GRUB en haut à gauche!!!
Et même la tentative de réparation avec le DVD Mageia4 échoue indiquant un pb de swap!
Il m'a fallu repasser en Live Fedora pour formatter la partition

3ème piège que je n'ai su résoudre...Seven ne démarre plus
A ce stade les 2 Linux sont enfi fonctionnels sur les partitions déplacées...
Mais pas les Windows, sauf XP qui a fini par démarrer en faisant /fixboot dans le menu de récupération de son DVD d'installation lequel a sans doute dégradé le bootloader de Seven.
Rien n'y a fait, formattage des partitions ntfs sous Linux sous Windows, j'ai même de nouveau bloqué Mageia4 car l'UUID de XP avait changé, il m'a fallu une nouvelle fois restitué XP avec sa sauvegarde. Kubuntu dans ce cas a été plus tolérant dans la mesure où il ne restait pas bloqué mais proposait de passer outre à l'erreur de montage de cette partition XP (un simple s à taper au démarrage)...
Au mieux j'ai retrouvé le multi-boot Microsoft mais alors ni XP ni Seven ne se lance...
Et là même si je suis curieux, j'ai abandonné...le sujet étant Performance partition...
