Ce n'est pas l'installation mais la paramétrage.
Tout d'abord php refusait de créer un fichier de log: fonction fopen() ne fonctionnait pas.
La cause vient du fichier host mal rempli: il faut mettre impérativement:
127.0.0.1 lcalhost.localdomain localhost
Ce problème résolu je tombe sur le suivant:
la lecture des tables MYSQL se font systématiquement en UTF8. J'ai donc encore une erreur.

A force de chercher ma situation devient urgente. Si quelqu'un veut bien m'aider ce serait bien.
Pour info ce problème n'est pas rencontrer chez mandriva.
