Utilisation de youtube-dl

Si j'essaie d'enregistrer une émission déjà diffusée, il n'y a pas de problème, par exemple la commande:
youtube-dl https://www.france.tv/france-3/12-13-journal-national/487259-edition-du-lundi-7-mai-2018.html
marche très bien, elle m'a créé un fichier intitulé: 12_13 - Journal national-175575683.mp4
que je peux voir avec VLC sans aucun problème.
Par contre quand j'essaie d'enregistrer une émission en direct par exemple par la commande:
youtube-dl https://www.france.tv/france-3/direct.html

Il semble donc que le media ne soit pas trouvé, pourtant quand je tape dans la barre d'adresse de mon nagigateur:
https://www.france.tv/france-3/direct.html
je tombe bien sur le direct de france-3 !!!!
Ensuite, si quelqu'un peut me dire comment enregistrer la télé en direct avec la commande youtube-dl, je pense qu'il faut lui préciser à quel moment on arrête l'enregistrement, c'est peut-être avec l'option: --socket-timeout 3600 pour un enregistrement de 1 heure ?
